Having the possibility to work (read: there are no structural barriers that prevent the citizen from making a living by means of work) is a precopndition for a healthy economy. But can the citizens achieve this if democracy is no longer working properly? The assumption is that is not the case. The question the becomes why democracy is no longer working. If democracy is seen as the expression of a social morality that govern the interactions between the members of a society, then we must restore morality as well and before we can hope to restore democracy and the economy.
